Inner Light: A Yule Visualization

Blessed Yule and Happy Holidays everyone!  I will be spending the holidays with my family for the first time since 2007, so I will only be posting a visualization this month.  I hope you all have a wonderful and love-filled holiday season.

Yule is the winter solstice, and it celebrates the return of the sun.  The winter solstice is the longest night of the year.  After Yule, the days become gradually longer until the summer solstice, which is the longest day of the year.  For me, Yule is also my anniversary of going on this spiritual journey that I originally embarked upon 14 years ago.  Coincidentally or not, my last name, Juhl, is the Danish spelling of the word, Yule.  I was actually born with this name.  I don't have/use a magickal name.

For me, Yule goes way beyond the return of the sun.  It's about committing to the path of Light again and allowing the Light to grow ever stronger, so it can change the world for the better.  I believe that as it is within us, so will it be without.  The world is a reflection of the beliefs and thoughts within us.  At Yule, all the candles we light and the bonfires we enjoy are not only a way to welcome the return of the sun but also an invitation to tend and grow our inner Light.  It is with that thought in mind that I created this guided experience/visualization for you:

Inner Light
Sit or lay down, and make yourself comfortable.  Breathe deeply and focus on the sound of your breathing.  Let your thoughts drift away.  Close your eyes.  Turn your vision inward.  See the pinkish red glow from behind your closed eyes.  Draw your awareness deeper.  All around you is a soft comforting darkness.  Push your awareness deeper still.  You're still surrounded by darkness, but in the distance is a tiny light.  Allow your awareness to move towards the light.  The closer you get, the bigger and brighter the light becomes.  Keep moving your awareness closer to the light until you're right in front of it.  The light is brilliantly glowing.  Observe your light.  Embrace your light.  Tell your light all the beautiful things you want it to be.  Allow the light to surround you.  Bask in the feeling of your inner light around you and within you, filling you to overflowing.  Spend as much time with your light as you need to then open your eyes when you're ready.  Be the Light you were born to be.

Don't forget to write in your journal about this experience.  This is a visualization that can be done any time.  It's also good for those rough days we sometimes have, because it reminds us of who we really are.  I would really like to hear about your experiences with this visualization.  Feel free to leave a comment below.

Blessed be!
